Would you like to see a Burlington History & Culture Center?

Hello. We are leading an effort to start a Burlington History & Culture Center based on ideas from the community. Vermont’s Queen City does not have a history museum or historical society dedicated to Burlington that reveals a comprehensive story of our city. We have a science museum and art galleries, as well as an art museum and museum of natural history at the University of Vermont. We also have the Ethan Allen Homestead that interprets our earliest days through an Allen family lens. Nowhere can we find a people’s history of the city in all its complexity. We believe the city needs a space that illustrates and interprets the stories of the many cultures that built Burlington, as well as the joys, successes, problems, and issues faced by each new generation. By looking back, we can understand the present more clearly and chart a way to a better future. Please help us envision the Burlington History & Culture Center by taking this short survey.
