Walk back in time as Preservation Burlington’s Tour Guides lead you through the exciting history of Burlington, Vermont. We provide many different tours that focus on the history of how the city was developed, its significant historic buildings, and the people that built them. Burlington hosts a wide range of architectural styles that include Classic Revival, Romanesque, Ecole de Beaux Arts, High Victorian, Art Deco and Streamline Modern.

Downtown Tour: The Tour begins in front of City Hall on the corner of Church and Main Streets. Hear stories of Burlington’s early businesses, firehouses, religious buildings, municipal buildings and parks. Waterfront Tour: The Tour begins on Perkins Pier at the bottom of Maple Street. Learn about the role the waterfront has on Burlington’s history. Hear stories of the early port, the lumber industry, the canal and railroad era, bike paths, open green space and more. waterfront-brochure.pdf

Old North End Tour: The Tour begins at Battery Park, across from the Pearl Street. Hear stories about the lives and homes of Burlington’s working class. This neighborhood is rich with immigrant history and small business success.
